I am a member of the Friends of the Garden. The Friends support the Garden's activities in many ways - not only via the membership fee, but also with a range of voluntary activities such as giving guided tours of the Garden, and running the Garden shop. I used to coordinate a group of Friends who collected seed from the plants in the Botanic Garden, both for sale to the Friends, and also as part of the garden's own seed-collecting. This activity is now organised by Garden staff.
