Echinocactus horizonthalonius We had seen this plant many times during our two weeks in Mexico. At last, on our final day, a glimpse of pink - first a plant with a dead flower, then finally one in bloom - the only specimen we found. So I do hope that you will forgive me two more images of the same plant...

Echinocactus horizonthalonius The plants were growing among sharp shaly rocks - a menace to climb on.

Echinocactus horizonthalonius Echinocactus often fail to thrive in cultivation, which made it all the more pleasurable to see this plant at its best in habitat.
