Calibanus sp.

Calibanus sp. Calibanus sp.
Date: 1996 October 31
Location: Guanajuato

This blue leaved Calibanus was found by Dr. Leopoldo Estrada, of CANTE. He is pictured below (on the right), together with Emilio Mendoza Luna studying one of the plants in flower.

The massive caudex can be seen below the grass-like leaves.

And no - Leopoldo doesn't always wear a rather silly paper hat! He had loaned his sombrero to someone else who had mislaid theirs.
