Narcissus "Taffeta"

Narcissus "Taffeta" Narcissus "Taffeta", a hoop-petticoat daffodil, in the Alpine House at Cambridge University Botanic Garden.

The Alpine House is used to display plants most of which are fully frost hardy, but aren't very keen on the rain or wind which often accompany the English Winter.

In December 1996, there isn't much in flower, not even any of the hardy Cyclamen species, but fortunately this Narcissus has come into flower much earlier than the common garden daffodils.
