Ariocarpus fissuratus

Ariocarpus fissuratus Ariocarpus fissuratus
Date: 1998 September 12

I raised this plant from seed sown in 1980. It was grafted on Pereskiopsis as a seedling to achieve rapid growth. Although long since removed from the graft, it is possible that that plant still has some roots belonging to the stock, and its rather tall growth, compared with plants usually more flat to the ground, is typical of a grafted plant.

Flowers emerge from the wool in the crown each Autumn, and are usually followed by lots of seed.
